Time will tell if it is a success, but it is certainly a good and even innovative effort, in much the same spirit as Microsoft (MSFT) has had with its new Bing search offering.
And while some might complain it is not cutting edge enough, it seem just the right amount of rejiggering and open feel for the mass of users its serves.
For Yahoo, at least when it comes to this one, change is indeed good.
Congratulations Tapan, Ingrid and all the rest of the gang at Yahoo! for this huge launch. Redesigning the most trafficked page on the web is one of the hardest thing to do. Well done!
Update: for those of you who reminded me that Yahoo's homepage may not be the most trafficked page on the internet today, here's my response: 1. I actually haven't checked the numbers recently, but I don't think it matters. Once you get more than 100M users, it's all the same: change is hard, and you're a main destination online. 2. Of course I love Yahoo! and I wish them the best. Who doesn't know that? :)
